On Thursday, July 26, 1990, Moises Alou debuted in his first game as a Major League Baseball Player as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Philadelphia Phillies at Three Rivers Stadium. During this game, Alou came into the game to replace Barry Bonds in left field during the fifth inning while going hitless in his two at bats in a 12-4 loss. Terry Mulholland earned a complete game win for the Phillies, with assistance from a Charlie Hayes home run while Neal Heaton received the loss in front of an official attendance of 24,008 people.
